JAPANESE
STONEWORK
Throughout the month of May, Tomas Lipps will travelling
with his wife Miwako (aka Mimi) through Japan photographing
stonework, stone sculpture, quarries and gardens for a
photo feature in a future issue of STONEXUS Magazine and
will share these photos with those attending the Symposium.
He may also be showing a selection of photographs pertaining
to a subject that is developing into a thematic feature
of this Symposium: stone bridges. Besides Dan Snow's presentations
of the stone bridges of Norway and Vermont, Jane Wooley
and Neil Rippingale's presentation of a major Dry Stone
Conservancy project, individuals involved in Vermont Historical
Preservation will be attending and may be presenting as
well.
Tomas is a born-again stonemason, the Stone Foundation's
Founder and 'Fearless Figurehead.' and the editor of STONEXUS
