LODGING
Barre
is a small town (population about 8,000) and there are
not a lot of options. These places listed below will
fill up fast (the symposium coincides with the beginning
of fall foliage season) so don't delay making reservations
or you may end up having to stay in neighboring Montpelier,
the state capital (six miles away).
The establishments listed below have agreed to offer discounted
rates to Symposiumites. To receive the discounted rates
you must register by August 15th. Those wishing to share
the cost of a room should notify me, tomas@stonefoundation.org,
and I will put you in touch with another Symposium attendee
(of the same gender) who also wishes to share.

The BARRE GRANITE MUSEUM
The most convenient campsite to the Symposium venue AND
the most economical will be the camping facility that
the Stone Foundation will set up on the grounds of the
Barre Granite Museum. The cost of that will be whatever
is necessary to cover the expenses of a large tent or
tents (it could rain) toilet facilities, etc. There will
be a convivial campfire there most evenings. Those who
opt for this should let me know and indicate whether
they will be bringing their own tent or will use a communal
tent (one for men, one for women.)
