2008 BARRE GRANITE FESTIVAL – The Stone Foundation

STONEWORK SYMPOSIUM 2008, THE BARRE GRANITE FESTIVAL & THE LITHIC OLYMPICS took place at the Barre Granite Museum and Stone Arts School, pictured here on the day of the Festival. Part of the bocce court built during the Dry Stone Walling workshop held during the week preceding the Symposium can be seen at the right, as well as a section of the Wheelbarrow Steeplechase Course. The ongoing Dry Stone Walling Competition Is happening Just In front of the Museum. The sheathing of the building is new, but the framework of the cathedral-like structure is original. see photo of interior below, also taken on the day of the Festival.
